Just a quick post this - If you find yourself using the BgbServer.log file in System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 or R2 and you come across this error:

ERROR: Error in FirewallDetection. Exception: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {304CE942-6E39-40D8-943A-B913C40C9CD4} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 800706d9 There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706D9).

In CMTrace it looks something like this...

Essentially it's a bit of a red-herring much like the status message that's gets reported for SQL firewall exceptions. Basically there is a registration process attempting to create a firewall exception for this COM component, however it cannot create it as in this case the server firewall is switched off. That is not to say that the COM component isn't registered, it simply was unable to create the FW exception and therefore fires an error so nothing to be concerned about. Don't let those red CMTrace lines spoil your good work!

So there you have it, nothing to worry about unless that us your FW is actually switched on!
