Well it’s been a little while now since I’ve done much blogging, particularly for WMUG as I’ve been a little pre-occupied the past 12 months or so writing a book with Packt Publishing. I’m very happy that my WMUG colleague Gerry Hampson agreed to co-author with me and he did a great job too.
As the title suggests the book covers troubleshooting of Configuration Manager and covers many aspects of the product in all recent versions including current branch. The topic list is as follows:
1: THE CONFIGURATION MANAGER TROUBLESHOOTING TOOLKIT
2: CONFIGURATION MANAGER MONITORING WORKSPACE AND LOG FILES
3: TROUBLESHOOTING CONFIGURATION MANAGER CLIENTS
4: TROUBLESHOOTING HIERARCHIES AND SITE SERVERS
5: TROUBLESHOOTING MANAGEMENT POINTS AND DISTRIBUTION POINTS
6: TROUBLESHOOTING OTHER ROLES
7: TROUBLESHOOTING COMMON TASKS
8: DISASTER RECOVERY
9: AVOIDING TROUBLE
The book is intended to be a guide for troubleshooting any Configuration Manager environment with advice on tools and techniques along with guidance on where to look and what information to use. Although we do list many typical error messages throughout, this is not intended to be a list of every possible error in Configuration Manager.
I’m very happy to announce that the book is now available to purchase from Packt directly or also from Amazon. I’m even happier to announce that all my proceeds from this project will be donated to Tommy’s charity which is a UK based charity for stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage. Thanks in advance for anyone that buys the book, I am personally very grateful and I hope you enjoy it.
